Nur Syarif Ramadhan
Nur Syarif Ramadhan (Syarif) is a researcher and advocate for disability inclusion and policy reform, committed to breaking down societal barriers and advancing equity through advocacy, research, and education. He currently serves as the Chairperson of the PerDIK Foundation and the National Executive Chairperson of the Disability Inclusion Monitoring Society Forum (FORMASI Disabilitas). In these roles, Syarif involved in research initiatives on the impact of climate change on vulnerable populations, including women, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. His work emphasizes the importance of inclusive climate resilience strategies to protect those most at risk. He also oversees the monitoring and evaluation of disability-related laws, publishing reports and recommendations to improve compliance and promote inclusive practices at local and national levels. Syarif has been instrumental in advising the government on developing an inclusive, disability-focused action plan in South Sulawesi. He facilitated community engagement initiatives that amplify marginalized voices, contributing valuable insights to social inclusion research. Additionally, Syarif authored a book, Winning Inclusion: Stories of Disabled Students in Makassar, which highlights lived experiences to inspire policy reform. Through the Equity Community, Syarif seeks to learn from global perspectives and foster partnerships to further advance inclusive practices and systemic change.
