Jonia Lourença Nunes Brites da Cruz

Jonia Lourença Nunes Brites da Cruz is a pharmacist with over 15 years of experience in clinical practice, regulatory affairs, health system strengthening, and supply chain management of health products. She has dedicated a decade to the Ministry of Health and five years to UN agencies, focusing on strengthening the health system and ensuring equitable access to essential medicines. Currently, Jonia serves as a Supply Chain Consultant for the Sexual and Reproductive Health Unit at the UNFPA Country Office in Timor-Leste. In this role, she provides technical expertise in the supply chain management of reproductive health commodities, facilitating annual quantification, developing supply plans, and leading training initiative for health workers on the supply chain management and the use of the electronic Logistic Management Information System. In the past, she served as National Director for Pharmacy and Medicines, Secretary General of the Pharmacists Association (current member) and a member of National Medicine and Therapeutic Committee. Motivated by her vision of equitable healthcare, Jonia works closely with marginalized communities, especially in rural areas, to improve access to contraceptives. She look forward to amplifying collective impact through the Equity Community, fostering sustainable, locally-driven solutions, and collaborating with global networks to drive systemic change.
