Haris Apriyanto
Haris Apriyanto is a passionate advocate and driver of multiple primary health care (PHC) transformation initiatives in Indonesia. Haris currently serves as the PHC Secretariat Lead at the Indonesia Ministry of Health/USAID MOMENTUM, driving reforms to expand service coverage through integrated care, financing, digitalization, and regulatory improvements. Growing up in a rural village with limited access to healthcare, Haris witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of inequality—malnourishment, preventable deaths, and inadequate maternal and child health services. These early experiences shaped his commitment to addressing disparities in healthcare access and improving health outcomes in underserved communities. Haris has played a pivotal role in the development and implementation of the Integrated Primary Health Care (IPHC) approach, now adopted in over 4,000 Community Health Centers (Puskesmas) nationwide. This initiative focuses on providing lifecycle-based preventive and promotive services, strengthening local area monitoring systems, and upgrading medical equipment to ensure standardized, high-quality care. In addition to his national efforts, Haris is passionate about fostering regional and global connections. He looks forward to collaborating with other Fellows in the Equity Community, exchanging innovative ideas, and learning best practices to further improve healthcare access and equity for rural and marginalized populations in Indonesia.
