Christian Edward Lim Nuevo is a dedicated public health professional with strong commitment to health financing reforms and systems strengthening. Currently serving as Head of Health Innovation and Impact at Ayala Healthcare Holdings Inc. (ACHealth), Christian focuses on helping build a more equitable and responsive health system in the Philippines by enhancing health services access. During his tenure at the Philippines’ Department of Health, Christian played a pivotal role in designing and overseeing the implementation of the Universal Health Care (UHC) Act, a landmark legislation institutionalizing key health system reforms. He also spearheaded the development of various benefit packages for their National Health Insurance program for primary care, inpatient services, and outpatient drugs. His work addresses systemic barriers that prevent low- and middle-income populations from accessing quality healthcare, and ensuring financial protection. He is also passionate about mentoring young professionals, fostering a new generation of public health advocates committed to driving meaningful change. Outside work, Christian enjoys caring for his dog, Banner, and aspires to establish a rescue shelter for stray animals. Through the Equity Community, he looks forward to exchanging insights and experiences, collaborating on shared health challenges, and further advancing health financing reforms in the Philippines and beyond.
