Ayu Kartika Dewi
Ayu Kartika Dewi is a peace educator and passionate advocate for youth empowerment. She currently serves as the Managing Director of Indika Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on enabling Indonesian youth to realize their full potential. In this role, Ayu leads programs that promote peacebuilding, education, and social impact, fostering a generation of leaders committed to inclusion and harmony. Ayu’s journey toward peace education began when she left the corporate sector to teach on a remote Indonesian island. There, she witnessed firsthand the damaging effects of intergenerational hatred and societal divides. This experience inspired her to co-found SabangMerauke, an interfaith and intercultural exchange program for youth. By promoting mutual understanding through experiential learning, Ayu has dedicated her career to addressing the deep-rooted social and cultural factors that fuel conflict. Prior to her role at Indika Foundation, Ayu served as Special Staff to the President of Indonesia, where she worked on initiatives promoting diversity, inclusion, and peacebuilding. She has also co-founded several social movements aimed at fostering understanding and reducing polarization. Through the Equity Community, Ayu hopes to deepen her understanding of intersectionality within marginalized communities and enhance her leadership and advocacy skills to further her mission of building a more peaceful society.
