Ye Naing Win

Ye Naing Win is a physician committed to advancing equitable healthcare access for underserved and marginalized communities. As a Consultant for the World Bank in Myanmar, he provides advisory services to strengthen healthcare financing and improve nutrition for those most in need. Witnessing countless patients denied essential medical care—further strained by low public health spending— fueled Ye’s determination to address systemic barriers to healthcare access and affordability. His research has contributed to two key analytical studies, Analysis of Access to Essential Health Services in Myanmar and Financial Burden of Out-of-Pocket Health Expenditure in Myanmar, highlighting critical barriers through both quantitative and qualitative insights. Ye played a critical role in the Myanmar Health Emergency Assistance Lifeline Project, designing strategies to deliver essential health and nutrition services to conflict-affected populations. His work required deep contextual understanding, stakeholder coordination, and advocacy for funding to support crisis-affected communities. Committed to driving systemic change, Ye seeks to collaborate through the Equity Community, leveraging cross-sectoral approaches to tackle health inequities, particularly in conflict zones. By integrating research, policy, and cross-sectoral collaboration, he remains focused on ensuring quality, affordable healthcare for the most vulnerable and hard-to-reach communities in Myanmar and the region.
