Kenneth Hartigan-Go
Dr. Kenneth Hartigan-Go is a physician, policymaker, educator, and health governance leader with more than two decades of experience in clinical practice, academia, and public service. He served as Director General of the Philippine Food and Drug Administration and later as Undersecretary of Health for the Office for Health Regulations (2015–2016). Earlier, he was the founding Executive Director of the Zuellig Foundation (2001–2009), where he forged strong partnerships across business, government, and civil society to advance health equity. Throughout his career, Dr. Hartigan-Go has facilitated public–private partnerships, from mobilizing drug donations for indigent clinics to convening pharmaceutical leaders, business executives, and policymakers for dialogue on rational health systems. He has provided expert advice to WHO, USAID, and the European Community on health programs in the Philippines. A trained internist and medical toxicologist from the Philippine General Hospital, he pursued further clinical research fellowships abroad and earned his doctorate from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1998. He previously taught at the University of the Philippines College of Medicine and served as president of the Philippine College of Physicians. Currently, Dr. Hartigan-Go is a Senior Fellow at the Ateneo Policy Center and adjunct faculty at the Asian Institute of Management. His passion lies in knowledge-sharing, building human capital, and creating better systems to address inequities in health.
